Small World Classes Are Cancelled for the Fall 2020 Semester
In-person classes will not meet this fall. We are taking precautions related to the coronavirus, and working with guidelines established by our host site, the First Presbyterian Church. This is a “pause” in our program. We hope to resume classes next year.
Are You Interested in Meeting Online?
Some of our teachers may be willing to hold conversation meetings using Zoom. This could be open to our existing and past students.
If you would enjoy this way to continue practicing your English, please call or email. If there is enough interest, we’ll let you know the options for a virtual meeting.
New Student Enrollment on Pause Also
We are not able to screen and place new students during this time. Please contact us so that we know if you are interested in our program. We will reply as soon as possible to answer any of your questions. We certainly look forward to greeting new students!
After we have your contact information, we will let you know when our Spring 2021 classes can meet safely in person.
We wish good health to all of you and your loved ones, until we can meet face-to-face!
In normal circumstances, classes are held on Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:00-11:00 a.m. and coincide with the KU academic calendar. There are no classes during the summer.
Small World is for WOMEN ONLY. We no longer have a children’s program.
Tuition: $20.00 per semester, $35.00 per year is due at enrollment.
Enrollment is based on availability. Women may enroll at any time during the semester, subject to availability. Classes are taught at six different levels by experienced, English-speaking teachers. All classes are taught by women. Each student advances at her own pace. Small World gives you the opportunity to learn or improve your English skills as you meet and socialize with International & American women.
KU visiting scholars with J-1 visas may enroll in Small World provided they are willing & able to attend classes regularly. Classes fill up very quickly! When a class is full, incoming students are placed on a “waiting list” until there is a vacancy.
